In a joint virtual session, the two partner projects CoRdiNet and CopHub.AC had their final joint review meeting with the European Commission and the European Commission’s Research Executive Agency on Friday, January 22nd. Here, the two projects’ joint activities were presented and assessed. One of the highlights of their joint work was the two projects’ joint Final Event organized as a hybrid & virtual event hosted in Salzburg, Austria. There, outputs and outcomes of the two projects were presented and discussed in two roundtable sessions together with experts on space applications from all over Europe. Additionally, the projects’ main outcomes and deliverables were bundled in a joint booklet  that was released during the event. The booklet provides information for Relays and Academy members, as well as recommendations for policy makers active at both, regional and EU levels.

The review meeting spurred discussions on the future role of Copernicus Academy and Relays networks, and the projects provided their recommendations for the European Commission. The recommendations include, among other, to build political will in regional policies and smart specialization strategies and enhance international and inter-regional cooperation. Moreover, the projects underscored the need for a strong collaboration between Copernicus Relays and Academy members.

As an introduction to the meeting and inspired by the theme at the joint Final Meeting A hitchhiker’s guide to digitalization – The detour through space, a poetic welcome message was provided by CoRdiNet coordinator bavAIRia. The artistic welcome message can be found at the link below:
