SCOR Working Group 144 - OMZ Microbes: Microbial Community Responses to Ocean Deoxygenation
SCOR Working Group 142: Quality Control Procedures for O₂ and Other Biogeochemical Sensors on Floats and Gliders
Global Ecology and Oceanography of Harmful Algal Blooms (GEOHAB) on the effects of physical, chemical and biological conditions on phytoplankton population dynamics, with the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC).
GEOTRACES is the global study of trace elements and isotopes.
International Ocean Carbon Coordination Project (IOCCP) is the observations of carbon cycling and storage in the ocean (with Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) and the Global Carbon Project - see below).

Ocean Observation Programmes

Global Ocean Observing System (GOOS) to ensure effective collection and use of sustained observations.
Argo programme: Argo is a global array of 3,000 free-drifting profiling floats that measure temperature and salinity in the upper 2000 m of the ocean. This allows continuous monitoring of the temperature, salinity, and velocity of the upper ocean, with all data being relayed and made publicly available within hours after collection.
