PhD Student from CRIMAC attends the National Mathematicians Meeting 2024

Ahmet Pala, a PhD student in Applied Mathematics at the University of Bergen and part of the CRIMAC project, recently participated in the National Mathematicians Meeting 2024, held at Soria Moria Hotel in Oslo.

This annual gathering brings together mathematicians from all over Norway to discuss cutting-edge research, share ideas, and foster collaboration across various fields of mathematics.

Ahmet’s involvement in the event was both enriching and rewarding. During the meeting, he attended a series of lectures and talks, covering a range of topics from statistical analysis to mathematical modeling. In a fun twist to the academic sessions, Ahmet earned a medal in the event’s math quiz, a highlight of the social activities, which added a touch of competition to the collaborative spirit of the meeting.

The meeting provided an excellent opportunity for Ahmet to engage with the broader mathematics community, gaining new perspectives and ideas that he is excited to bring back to his work at CRIMAC. His research in the project focuses on applying machine learning to improve the analysis of acoustic data for marine research, and the knowledge shared at the event will no doubt contribute to advancing these efforts
