Due to the covid-19 pandemic, this year’s EGU conference, EGU2020: Sharing Geosciences Online, was organized as a virtual conference. However, that did not stop presenters and attendants from all over the world to join the different session. And CoRdiNet partner TeRN/CNR was no exception. In the session on Bridging between scientific disciplines: Participatory Citizen Science and Open Science as a way to go, Participants from CoRdiNet presented On the barriers limiting the adoption of the Earth Observation Copernicus data and services and their integration with non-conventional (e.g., citizen) observations: the EU CoRdiNet project contribution.

Here, the results from a survey of Copernicus stakeholders are summarized and presented. Identified barriers to increased adoption of Copernicus data and services across regions and sectors are highlighted, and some recommendations on mitigation strategy are provided.
